The Rock n’ Roll will be a for-profit Chiang Mai corporation. We will lease an approximately 10-15,000 square/ft. facility where we will offer a central, indoor location for guests to learn and practice their skateboarding skills. The facility will include a six foot half pipe/miniramp and street course containing many different types of ramps and obstacles to practice their skills on, a concession stand and rest area. There will also be a stage for live bands to play and put on concerts, on special occasions when these events are planned.Within a 20 kilometer radius of the proposed facility, there are many youth interested in skateboarding, but have no formal location to do this without disrupting the public or damaging private property. All of these are potentially regular customers for The Rock n’ Roll. This indoor facility will cater to the increasing need of individualized skills training on a year-round basis. The Rock n’ Roll currently has no competition within the service area. There is one outdoor location that youth use regularly, the Three Kings Monument, which is a deterrence for tourism and potentially damaging a revered area. This area is closed during the Sunday night market and has limited utilization during the hot summer months. The next closest facility is in Payap University, which is slowly being damaged also. The Rock n’ Roll will provide a quality indoor skateboarding environment for serious athletes and amateur enthusiasts. The Rock n’ Roll is a business that will flourish in the growing sports environment of Chiang Mai. The Rock n’ Roll will provide a quality indoor skateboarding environment for both the serious and the recreation-minded and be a common venue for bands to put on shows and concerts. The primary goal for The Rock n’ Roll’s staff is to promote skateboarding fundamentals and local bands making it available for all. By focusing on our primary goal, The Rock n’ Roll will provide a service to the local youth, that will in turn generate a positive revenue stream for continued growth and an environment that will induce health in mind, body, and spirit. The company's plan is to build a foundation for both kids and adults that will promote inner strength and encourage them to be beneficial as they mature. Skateboarding is a growing sport in Thailand. By far, the most significant factor to affect the skateboard business in the forthcoming decade is the dramatic growth of the 16-25 year old segment of the population, which will increase by 54%. This age group represents the prime segment of the population that enjoys skateboarding, and that means bottom-line profit for the facility will increase. The facility will be the most modern in Chiang Mai and in Thailand as a whole. In addition to skateboarding, an underlying subculture directly related is the underground music scene. The Rock n’ Roll will supply a reliable, welcoming venue for this demographic to share their skills by performing on stage. Regular music shows will be scheduled by local and abroad bands alike. In order for this to take place financial investors are needed for construction of this business. Estimated costs for building this from the ground up is only $200,000 US. Most of the cost is for quality materials that will be shipped from the US. Labor costs are minimal in Thailand.
