CorpUtvRitz Carlton has become a lot more structured around succession planning. When will you be ready for the next spot, who have you groomed to take your spot? Everybody is told you are not going anywhere, until they have trained somebody beneath them. It does not matter whether you are a 25-year old manager or a 65-year old manager; there should always be an individual ready to fill your position. Another consideration is making sure the talent is the right fit for the right job; it is not enough just to have people in the organization, but you have to have great people in the right roles.
