Add Resource
The success of EntreOasis depends on its community (that’s you!) to contribute Resources and other content. We encourage you to contribute as much as possible.
You do not have to be the creator or owner of a Resource in order to add it to EntreOasis. But, there are some things you need to consider – see below.
What you can add to EntreOasis:
- You can provide a description and link to any publicly-available Resource on the Internet, even if you don’t own the Resource. Publicly-Available means that anyone can get to the Resource without a login and the owner of the Resource is not specifically trying to restrict access to the Resource. For example, you can add a description and link to a website, whether you own the website or not. You can link to the home page of the website, a specific page on a website, to a specific file, etc.
- You can create your own Resources and add them to EntreOasis. You can add your own Word Processing documents (DOC, RTF, WPF), Spreadsheets (XLS), PowerPoint Presentations (PPT), and Adobe PDF documents (PDF). You can also add files and documents you don’t own, as long as the copyright associated with the Resource allows for public and unrestricted distribution.
- You can build your own Resources directly in EntreOasis with our easy-to-use form and WYSIWYG editor.
- You can link to or embed videos in EntreOasis. Currently, you cannot upload a video to EntreOasis, but you can link to videos on other websites, such as www.YouTube.com or www.CiscoEtube.net.
What you should not add to EntreOasis:
- Resources on other websites that are only available to subscribers with login accounts should not be added to EntreOasis. Any Resource that is locked behind a login normally means the owner of that Resource does not want to make it publicly and freely available, so you should not add it to EntreOasis.
- While you can add links to any publicly-available Resources on other websites, you should not upload documents that you do not own. It’s ok for EntreOasis to point to documents that reside elsewhere, but it is not ok to upload documents that you do not own or know for sure that the copyright allows for free and unrestricted distribution.
What happens when you add a Resource to EntreOasis?
- You can choose to make the Resource publicly visible to the entire EntreOasis community, visible only to you and your friends, or visible only to you.
- When you add a Resource, it gets stored in the EntreOasis database. If you are only adding a link to a Resource that resides elsewhere, then only the link gets stored – EntreOasis will not go out and capture the Resource being linked to.
- If the same Resource is added multiple times to EntreOasis, then we may remove one or more instances of the Resource, in order to keep EntreOasis as useful as possible for the community.
- If we believe, or are notified, that a Resource added to EntreOasis violates copyright, or is contrary to the EntreOasis Terms of Use, we will promptly remove the Resource from EntreOasis.
